About the artist:
American artist Wallace Nutting was born in 1861 and graduated from Harvard in 1887. When he was 43, his health went into decline and during a bicycle ride in 1899 he started taking photographs. Soon after he began traveling to take photos of landscapes and wildlife across America. In 1904, he opened Wallace Nutting Art Prints in New York. Nutting's colorists painted the photographs which he took.
